for the fourth

We decided to do a barbeque spontaneously at Mat’s but I’m a planner by nature, which meant I immediately went into overdrive making to-do lists and a dinner menu. With work until late and home renovations beginning the next day, I could feel the rising anxiety that usually parallels multitasking.

So I just said I couldn’t do it.

Which is amazing for me. Typically I’ll teeter on the edge of hysteria trying madly to do what I didn’t want to do but still agreed to do. Everything usually turns out fine but the anxiety is exhausting. Instead Jasmin and I picked up pizza and beer from Whole Foods and met up the girls at the park.  Everyone contributed a little something so it all fell together perfectly. And I didn’t have to do any house cleaning.
